About Ashley

Ashley Parsons completed her studies in Spiritual Psychotherapy and Spiritual Direction at the Transformational Arts College in Toronto in 2016 and now practices as a Registered Psychotherapist and is a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.  Her studies in Psychotherapy were preceded by an undergraduate degree and graduate studies in the History and Philosophy of Asian Religions at Concordia University in Montreal.

She has lived and studied extensively with various Lamas in Buddhist monasteries across North America and India and has had the blessing of private audiences with His Holiness the Dalai Lama due to her work with the Canada Tibet Committee and the Kalachakra Tantra in Toronto, 2004.

Ashley became a certified Yoga teacher in 2011 and has studied Yoga internationally in India, the United States, Central America and Canada with internationally renowned teachers throughout her 25 year yoga journey.

Ashley’s therapeutic approach is first and foremost to meet clients where they are at, to get clear on client goals, to support the client through meditative techniques and therapeutic tools that are appropriate for the client. These tools may include connecting the client with the Wise part of themselves, affirmations co-created with the client in order to restore their power, and more.  Preferred therapeutic approaches are Depth Hypnosis and Applied Shamanic Counselling, however, Ashley has a myriad of tools gleaned from her 8 years of experience as a Psychotherapist.

Working at the client’s pace, Ashley has a passion for identifying limiting beliefs and behaviour patterns and re-patterning those beliefs to align with the client’s Higher Self.  Her passion for this healing work is a labour of love; she has a natural ability to be present with others. Ashley is currently studying at the graduate level at the University of Ottawa in Psychedelics and Consciousness Studies.

Professional Background

Ashley’s training in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy with TheraPsil in California has placed her at the progressive intersection of ancient and contemporary healing medicine.  During the pandemic when she worked as a Primary Therapist at a renowned recovery centre in Muskoka, Ontario, Ashley became acutely aware of the need for Psychedelic Assisted therapy in veterans and people with severe PTSD who struggled to get well.  The packed venue at a recent talk Ashley gave on Psychedelic Assisted Therapy and Micro-dosing affirmed the interest and demand by the general public for Psychedelics.

Over the last six years Ashley has studied at the Foundation of the Sacred Stream in Berkeley, California as she delved into Applied Shamanism, Plant Medicine Preparation and Integration, and a model of healing called Depth Hypnosis which integrates principles of Tibetan Buddhism, Shamanism, Energy Medicine and Transpersonal Psychotherapy.  She has found these healing modalities to be particularly transformative in connecting clients with their higher self while repatterining limiting beliefs and behaviours and aligning them with their power including a true sense of self-esteem and inner-vitality.

Recently, Ashley has been public speaking about the Therapeutic benefits of Psilocybin, including micro-dosing and therapeutic doses.  She is also the writer and content creator for eight episodes of a new Health and Wellness television series for Gusto Media International, for which she is featured on-screen as a Wellness and Yoga professional, offering her insights for living a happier life: mind, body and spirit.

Currently, Ashley is taking MA level courses in Psychedelics and Consciousness Studies at the University of Ottawa.  Prior to this she studied the Spiritual Traditions of the East at the graduate, post-graduate and personal levels for over two and a half decades, integrating these studies into her work as a transpersonal Psychotherapist; she earned her degree in Psychotherapy at the Transformational Arts College in Toronto.

She is currently completing her first book based on all of the above.
